NEW YORK, NEW YORK
Situated in the heart of Manhattan and intertwined in a sixty story residential tower designed by Cetra Ruddy Architects, the landscape for West 53rd Street was generated by an urgent need for programmatic flexibility within limited space. The project began with research into the various types of activities that a residential complex could contain given the various site characteristics such as light, wind, and noise. By analyzing how residents might use their outdoor spaces over time and coupling activities that would build value for the development we were able to create spaces that would respond to the residents needs throughout the four seasons.
